On December 23, 2016, Barrack Obama signed into law S. 2943, the 'National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017. There was a surprise, buried deep inside it, under layers of legislation -- the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act. It’s stated purpose was to counter foreign propaganda but it also allowed, for the first time in our history, government sponsored propaganda of our own and it allowed it to be used in the country on American citizens. This was not a coincidence. After losing a shoe-in election for Hillary Clinton the enemies of the Constitution panicked, The timing was set to affect the incoming President, a man they had to stop and discredit before he was able to revel the massive corruption in our nation.
Yes, the Obama Administration laid the foundation for "fake news" and domestic propaganda, destroying journalism in the United States. The US media is no longer free but a palate for Socialist agendas of their billionaire owners. We can’t have a ‘free’ media when the nation’s social media platforms, TV channels, newspapers, radio stations and streaming services are owned by a handful of giant corporations. Our media cannot be truly independent if many of our most influential news organizations are controlled by individuals and boards pursuing vested interests.
It’s easy to complain about the obvious reality that our political media are completely corrupted and engage in propaganda, not journalism. But as they are the largest, most powerful, and least accountable political advocacy group in the country, Americans also need to do more than complain as the press harms the country. Not everyone is as bad as everyone else, but nearly the entire press corps is somewhere on the Democrat activist scale, from left to radical fringe.
They need to be treated as what they are so stop calling them the “mainstream media” when they are anything but mainstream, with views far to the left of the average American, and they’re not media but propagandists and political activists. They have infected millions of Americans with brain-washing propaganda repeated over and over and over again until their lies becomes a citizens truth. They ape these media talking points ad nauseam.
The onslaught of media dishonesty has been relentless. The progressive left isn’t happy to just let us live with our own values, our own media, our own cultural verticals. They seek to completely destroy ideological and financial competition. They seek unity through complete elimination of the other side. THIS IS COMMUNISM! It may be wrapped in red, white, and blue and they might wave their living constitution and proclaim their loyalty to the country, but they are liars and traitors to the original Constitution.
You don't have to be a genius, or a political analyst or a sociologist to notice the huge shift that has happened in the media of the United States. Dozens of television channels, newspapers, magazines, and websites have morphed into agenda driven propaganda vehicles. Unbiased journalism is long gone. When will America recover from this atrocity and will that ever happen? Who knows, but until that actually happens, if it ever does, we are much better off seeking information ourselves, reading conflicting reports, and trying to come up with our own conclusions. To find truth in a country of lies is not easy, but it IS essential.
