About Us

Are you ready for the truth? The REAL truth of who is REALLY running this country and the world. You may be shocked or shake your head in disbelief, but the truth is that everything you have learned or been told in your lifetime has been slanted or distorted to fit an agenda. It's the way they keep the populace under control. You have been programed to believe the lies. It's hard not to when the lies and half-truths are bombarding our brains daily. Do you want to continue to be controlled or are you ready to think for yourselves? We must restore a reverence for the principles of liberty underlying the U.S. Constitution in the minds of enough Americans to tip our country back toward limited constitutional government. Those who understand the importance of the Constitution to liberty will defend it. Those who don’t, won’t. - Editor: M. Richard Maxson - Contributors: George Sontag, Zeno Potas, and Phillip Todd.

Americanism vs Progressivism

by

       M. Richard Maxson

Before we begin let us get our terminology set so there is no mistake. Americanism pertains to the vision of the Founding Fathers, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Progressivism refers to Socialism, Communism, and the current state of the Democratic party of the United States. Progressivism has transformed American politics and culture. What was that transformation? It was a total rejection in theory, and a partial rejection in practice, of the principles and policies on which America had been founded. Progressivism, as modified with contemporary liberalism, has become the predominant view in modern American education, media, popular culture, and politics.

  • The Founders believed that all men are created equal and that they have certain inalienable rights. All are also obliged to obey the natural law, under which we have not only rights but duties. We are obliged "to respect those rights in others which we value in ourselves" (Jefferson). The main rights were thought to be life and liberty, including the liberty to organize one's own church, to associate at work or at home with whomever one pleases, and to use one's talents to acquire and keep property. For the Founders, then, there is a natural moral order – rules discovered by human reason that promote human well-being, rules that can and should guide human life and politics.
  • The Progressives rejected these claims as naive and unhistorical. In their view, human beings are not born free. Since human beings are not naturally free, there can be no natural rights or natural law. The Progressive Era is generally seen as the period from 1890 to 1920, coinciding with the beginnings of Communism. President Woodrow Wilson(D), a leading progressive, had a deep contempt for the founding principles of our nation. Progress for Wilson was to get "beyond the Declaration of Independence," because "it is of no consequence to us." President Woodrow Wilson was a believer in notions of racial superiority and inferiority. He was so enthralled with D.W. Griffith's "Birth of a Nation" movie, which glorified the Ku Klux Klan, that he invited various dignitaries to the White House to view it with him.
  • Government's main duty for the Founders is to secure that freedom – at home through the making and enforcement of criminal and civil law, abroad through a strong national defense. The protection of life and liberty is achieved through vigorous prosecutions of crime against person and property or through civil suits for recovery of damages, these cases being decided by a jury of one's peers.
  •  The Progressives regarded this as a Founders' scheme that is defective because it took too benign a view of human nature. They rejected the Founders' conception of freedom as useful for self-preservation for the sake of the individual pursuit of happiness. For the Progressives, then, it was of no great importance whether or not government has consent as long as it serves its proper end of remolding man in such a way as to bring out his real capacities and aspirations. For the Progressives, freedom is redefined as the fulfillment of human capacities, which becomes the primary task of the state, not the individual.
  • The Founders taught that political society is "formed by a voluntary association of individuals in which the whole people covenants with each citizen, and each citizen with the whole people, that all shall be governed by certain laws for the common good" (Massachusetts Constitution of 1780).
  • The Progressives treated the social/political contract idea with scorn. Democracy and consent are not absolutely rejected by the Progressives, but their importance is greatly diminished. In Progressivism, the domestic policy of government had two main concerns. That the government must protect the victims of capitalism through redistribution of resources, anti-trust laws, government control over the details of commerce and production. The other is that government must become involved in the "spiritual" development of its citizens -- not, of course, through promotion of religion, but through protecting the environment, education, and spiritual uplift through subsidy and promotion of the arts and culture.
  • In the founding, the liberty to be secured by government is not freedom from necessity or poverty. It is freedom from the despotic and predatory domination of some human beings over others. The Founders believed that government was incompetent at directing man in his highest endeavors. Government had to be limited both because it was dangerous if it got too powerful and because it was not supposed to provide for the highest things in life.

  • The Progressives believe that the state has the responsibility for creating institutions under which individuals can effectively realize the potentialities that are theirs." Institutions are means of creating individuals…. Individuality in a social and moral sense is something to be wrought out." "Creating individuals" versus "protecting individuals": this sums up the difference between the Founders' and the Progressives' conception of what government is for.

Progressivism is transforming American politics. What is that transformation? It is a total rejection in theory, and a partial rejection in practice, of the principles and policies on which America had been founded. A rejection of the Constitution, as it was intended, and all of the eternal wisdom of “those old white slave owners”. Progressivism seeks to grant the state vast new authority to manage all walks of American life while at the same time weakening traditional checks on government power, including private property rights and liberty of contract, two principles that progressives hold in contempt.

The Progressives wanted to sweep away what they regarded as this amateurism in politics. They had confidence that modern science had superseded the perspective of the liberally educated statesman. Only those educated in the top universities, preferably in the social sciences, were thought to be capable of governing. Politics was regarded as too complex for the common people with sense to cope with. America desperately needs to rid ourselves of professional politicians and to return to a ‘citizen legislature,’ where regular Americans take time out of their lives to serve this nation. The next four years will be a daily battle against a mighty Progressive movement that already controls academia and the media. The fate of this nation depends on our victory over this evil.

A Common Sense American - Thomas Sowell

By

      M. Richard Maxson

A great commentator on America has just retired from public life. Thomas Sowell is an American economist, social theorist, political philosopher, and author, whose
books include Basic Economics. He is currently senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. His vision of American society and world events is unparalleled in it's clarity and common sense. The prolific libertarian economist's vast body of work is a clear rejection of all the Leftist intelligentsia hold dear. Sowell's groundbreaking academic analyses of these Socialist programs in the U.S. and around the world exposed how elites profit mightily at the expense of the alleged beneficiaries of government-coerced affirmative action.

He was a citizen of the world and skin color and partisan loyalty didn't dictate his thinking. He embraced time-tested, transcendent principles grounded in the reality of how things really are -- as opposed to the fantastical imaginings of what he distinctly called the "Vision of the Anointed." (i.e. Democratic Socialists)

He made clear that as prestigious schools such as the University of California, Berkeley congratulated themselves for manufacturing "wonderfully diverse" student bodies ostensibly to make up for the legacy of American slavery, (which Sowell pointed out was in no way unique to either the American South or blacks), he reported that more than 70 percent of black students at UC Berkeley failed to graduate.

His publications entitled “Random Thoughts“ inspired our column “Neglected Truths“. These are a few of his thoughts that contain so much truth and reality in this world of false narratives.

  • "In order that this relatively small group of people can believe themselves wiser and nobler than the common herd, we have adopted policies which impose heavy costs on millions of other human beings, not only in taxes, but also in lost jobs, social disintegration, and a loss of personal safety. Seldom have so few cost so much to so many."
  • The NAACP's decision to back the teachers' unions, who donate money to them, against charter schools that provide thousands of black children their only hope of a better life, means that the NAACP should no longer be considered part of the civil rights movement, but just another part of the race hustling racket.
  • What 'multiculturalism' boils down to is that you can praise any culture in the world except Western culture - and you cannot blame any culture in the world except Western culture.
  • Have you noticed that there seem to be an ever growing number of things that we are not supposed to say in public?
  • If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 60 years ago, a liberal 30 years ago and a racist today.
  • Immigration laws are the only laws that are discussed in terms of how to help people who break them.
  • If what you want from politicians are quick and easy answers, someone is sure to supply them, regardless of which party you follow. History can tell you where quick and easy answers lead. But, if you don't want to bother reading history, you can just wait and relive its catastrophes
  • Global warming, due to greenhouse gasses, is the latest in a long series of one-factor theories about a multi-factor world. Such theories have often enjoyed great popularity, despite how often they have turned out to be wrong.
  • According to the Washington Post, record numbers of college students say that they plan to engage in protests. Our educational system may not teach students much math or science, but students learn from gutless academic administrators that mob rule is the way to get what you want — and to silence those who disagree with you.
  • People who are willing to consider virtually any conceivable excuse for criminals' acts cut no slack at all for decisions that police have to make in a split second, at the risk of their lives. For some people, it is not enough that cops put themselves at risk to protect the rest of us. They want cops to risk their lives for the sake of handling criminals more gently.
  • At last we have reached the point where we can say, "Next year this time, Obama will not be president." But the disasters he leaves behind will plague us for years to come. And some of those disasters may strike even before he is gone.
  • Historians of the future, when they look back on our times, may be completely baffled when trying to understand how Western civilization welcomed vast numbers of people hostile to the fundamental values of Western civilization, people who had been taught that they have a right to kill those who do not share their beliefs.
We can only go back into the archives for more of his timeless wisdom. They can be found on his website here: http://tsowell.com/. He is one of the leading Patriots modern America has produced. His clarity of observation on the insanity around us will surly be missed.

Where Are We - Who Are We?

By

       M. Richard Maxson

As the election of 2016 closed in we here at The American Constituionalist met to discuss whether or not to cease publishing this blog. Our focus was on the need for such a forum. Some were of the opinion that the United States and it's constitution were now in the dustbin of history and with coronation of Queen Hillary - Democratic Corporate Socialism would completely engulf this once proud nation. What our fellows did not know is that through the efforts of others and ourselves the story of the tallying of the votes by the Soros machine was heard. One by one, many states disconnected and counted their own votes for submission. The overwhelming surge from middle America at the polls could not be hidden or denied. They came out in huge numbers, perhaps not to vote for the Republican, but to vote for America, the Constitution, and against the Socialism of the Democratic party. We shall see where President-elect Trump takes us back to the Founder's ideals or somewhere else, but what became apparent to us is that our work is not done. We will continue to speak out against the lies and propaganda that is leading America, as we have known it, towards it's destruction.

With over 200 articles on this incarnation of the blog, you, the readers, have a treasure trove of truth to explore without bias or propaganda. As this being the end of the year, we are bringing our readers up to date on the history, modest accomplishments, and consequences of publishing - The American Constitutionalist.

SURVEILLANCE

Before the public was aware, before the whistle-blowers, before Edward Snowden's massive trove of proof, we published our first piece on the massive eves-dropping and information intrusion on the American people. The AC immediately drew a response from the government. Our publisher's son had his security clearance revoked (They thought it was his blog) and all persons connected to The American Constituionalist were put on the U.S. government's “watch list” where we remain to this day. We found that the use of “key words” triggered the surveillance system to spy on whoever used them. Some of these “key words” are Liberty, Founders, Vote(r), Bilderburger, Propaganda, Soros, Ukraine, Islam, Bankers, and, believe it or not, Constitution just to name a few.

THE GOVERNMENT(?) SHUTS US DOWN

After publishing a number of articles on a once a month basis (many of these were written by authors with similar viewpoints and they were credited for their work) this blog disappeared from the internet! We repeatedly inquired to our publishing agent as to what happened and where the blog had gone. We were met for months with silence. To this day we still have no answers for it's mysterious disappearance. Not to be deterred we started anew only to find out that our domain name had been frozen. We did not want to leave our readers, our work, unfinished – so now our domain name has the word “the” - twice in it (eg, thetheamericanconstituionalist@blogspot.com.) By doing this we have been buried in the nation's search engines making it very difficult for new inquiring minds to find us.

WE HAVE BEEN HEARD

If we are to bring America back to it's greatness we must return to the time tested wisdom of our Founding Fathers. To accomplish that we patriots MUST take back the Democratic party from the Communist Socialist element that now have it firmly in their grasp as they stated they would do in goal #15 in the declaration of 1963 (See: http://rense.com/general32/americ.htm ) There are still a few non-radicals within the party that want their organization back. They are in denial of the truth and as you can see by their demands they are really outside of what the party stands for today. Here is a list of goals from that small number of constitutional patriotic members of the Democratic party:

1. Elites Must Go. We will push aggressively for a constitutional amendment for term limits. We also support a lifetime ban on elected officials serving as lobbyists. You don’t drain a swamp just to let it fill back up again.

2. Fair Trade. NAFTA and the World Trade Organization must be renegotiated. For 20 years, we have shipped jobs abroad with the promise of cheap goods and better jobs in return. Economists acknowledge this arrangement has failed.

3. Economic Vitality. We support rebuilding America’s infrastructure to facilitate job growth and protect the health of our people. This is especially true in rural America and inner cities. Meanwhile, we must address the economic tsunami heading our way: Silicon Valley’s automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

4. Education. We staunchly support public education and recognize the tough position of today’s teachers. Still, there is room for reform. Charter schools are part of that solution.

5. Energy. The elites shipped us off to wars and conflicts or oil. No more. It’s time to rebuild our electrical grid and let the free market develop solar, wind and natural gas projects in its place; no Solyndras.

6. National Security. We embrace the goal of making countries democratic, but not by the barrel of a gun. Wars like Iraq and Libya must end. Next, our fight against terrorism should include a tough line against the radical Islamic ideology that pours from Saudi Arabia. Finally, we must build an aggressive capacity to address asymmetrical threats like cyber attacks.

7. Corporate America. Wells Fargo recently admitted to opening up two million fake accounts in our names. This isn’t an anomaly: big corporations often chase profits at the expense of the American worker. We will fight any efforts to roll back common sense rules to keep businesses honest.

8. Environment. The Iroquois tribe had it right – every decision should consider how it would impact seven generations in the future. Our posterity deserves the cleanest water and freshest air we can give them, even if that means we sacrifice today.

9. Social Issues. The government should get out of our bodies, our bedrooms, and our churches. So long as our choices don’t involve taxpayer money, it’s no one’s business but our own. Next, we reject identity politics and their corrosive effects on the nation. Finally, we embrace individual responsibility and accountability.

10. Social Safety Net. We understand that the government can be a force for good if it’s directed properly. Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are prime examples of that. We are amenable to reform but not if it undermines America’s basic protections for the most vulnerable.

As we offer these principles to the America people, we also extend a hand to Mr. Trump. We are ready and eager to cooperate where it fits these values, but will stand firm if pushed too far. Still, we stand shoulder to shoulder with all Americans who – whether they voted for Trump or not – want to make America great again. "We are Democrats who want the same."

If the party realizes these goals, then together we can reclaim our media and eduction system putting an end to the leftist Socialism that has our country in it's grip. This declaration is proof that there are decent patriots left in the party. They may only number less than 20% but that may be enough to reverse the march towards Socialism. It has to be.

American Exceptionalism - The Electoral College

By

      M. Richard Maxson

Many today, who have not been educated of the workings of our nation and the Constitution, are once again in an uproar over the results of this past presidential election. Democrats, for the second time in sixteen years, are bemoaning the electoral college. They claim that this is not democracy – and they are right. What they forget is that this country is a Republic – a Republic of individual states with individual
rights. (i.e., federalism, as opposed to direct democracy) Our Founding Fathers established the Electoral College because those larger states, those larger areas, don't necessarily need to be the ones that rule. If that were the case then the today's elections would be decided by the four most populated states making the other 46 insignificant. The Electoral College process was actually put in place to ensure a nationwide system of fairness.

James Madison,in the Federalist No. 10, argued against "an interested and overbearing majority" and the "mischiefs of faction" in an electoral system. He defined a faction as "a number of citizens whether amounting to a majority or minority of the whole, who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adverse to the rights of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community."

What was then called republican government with its varied distribution of voter rights
and powers, would countervail against factions. Madison further postulated in the Federalist No. 10 that the greater the population and expanse of the Republic, the more difficulty factions would face in organizing due to such issues as sectionalism. His vision was extraordinary.

In The Federalist Papers, James Madison explained his views on the selection of the president and the Constitution. In Federalist No. 39, Madison argued the Constitution was designed to be a mixture of state-based and population-based government. Congress would have two houses: the state-based Senate and the population-based House of Representatives. Meanwhile, the president would be elected by a mixture of the two modes.

Another of our country's Founders,Alexander Hamilton, in Federalist No. 68 laid out what he believed were the key advantages to the Electoral College. The electors come directly from the people and them alone for that purpose only, and for that time only. This avoided a party-run legislature, or a permanent body that could be influenced by foreign interests before each election. Hamilton explained the election was to take place among all the states, so no corruption in any state(s) could taint "the great body of the people" in their selection. The choice was to be made by a majority of the Electoral College, as majority rule is critical to the principles of republican government. Hamilton argued, electors meeting in the state capitals were able to have information unavailable to the general public. Hamilton also argued that since no federal officeholder could be an elector none of the electors would be beholden to any presidential candidate.

Under our unique system the people only indirectly elect the president, as the national popular vote is not the basis for electing the president or vice president. The president and vice president of the United States are elected by the Electoral College, which consists of 538 presidential electors from the fifty states and Washington, D.C. Presidential electors are selected on a state-by-state basis, as determined by the laws of each state. Since the election of 1824, most states have appointed their electors on a winner-take-all basis, based on the statewide popular vote on Election Day. Maine and Nebraska are the only two current exceptions, as both states use the congressional district method. Although ballots list the names of the presidential and vice presidential candidates (who run on a ticket), voters actually choose electors when they vote for president and vice president.

The states stay together as one country because each is treated equally and not dominated by the states with higher populations. The Electoral College gives a very fair perspective, so that those who are in the rural areas are able to have an equal voice with those who are in the urban areas. These rights, assigned by the Constitution, gives the population of each state an equal vote in who is their leader and they cannot be destroyed just because the coastal states have more population. This is one of the pillars in this government known - as The United States.

Observations on Socialism in the United States

by

       M. Richard Maxson

  • For the past several decades, government public schools and nearly all colleges have touted Socialism’s principles of redistribution, racialism and class envy while declining to connect the dots between Socialism and tyranny, examples of which abound. American values are demonized as misguided so is it any wonder that so many young people have a rosy view of Socialism.

  • This is a shocking development in the quarter of a century after the spectacular worldwide collapse of Socialism. It is the consequence of several decades of extreme political correctness in our educational system where Constitutionalists, who might have educated our young people about the reality of Socialism, have been so effectively censored.

  • The main problems with Socialism is that it will destroy your economic future and your children’s future. It creates an unjust society where a small political elite enriches itself by imposing a regime of equality of poverty and misery on most everyone else.

  • Socialism has been associated with the worst crimes in human history.

  • U.S., UK, And EU, Are Now Socialist semi-dictatorships There are various types of this, such as Communist (‘workers’ dictatorship), Fascist (corporate dictatorship), etc., but those are merely fine points on basically the same beast, and all variants of the Socialist beast have two classes of people: the aristocracy, who rule, and the public, who are ruled.

  • The Socialist welfare state also harms the poor by destroying their work incentives, crowding out private charities, and causing family breakups where fathers are replaced by government checks; and it destroys personal freedoms by using governmental force in pursuit of “equality.”

  • The system is not merely rigged; it is actively designed to suppress and repress those who reject subjugation by, and submission to, the liberal elite. They do not want us to be, nor do they have any intention of letting us be, free, unmolested, and active participants in our own governance. "They" know what is best for us.

  • It has been demonstrated time and time again that a government-controlled Socialist media is not a free media. The ease with which the government would be able to censor or "edit" the news is a chilling prospect to imagine. We are suddenly finding ourselves in a world where free speech in the media is what they say it is and would first have to be “approved.”

  • Socialism requires a gargantuan government so it can confiscate property, control behavior and manage an always growing list of programs to achieve “fairness and equality.”

  • Socialism will take something from someone else who earned it and give it to you and in return, you will do what Socialists want you to do.

  • You can go to college and you don’t have to pay for it! Someone else will give you a place to live, food stamps, welfare and health care! In return, you just have to give up on your pride, your dreams and control of your own life.

  • Socialism is for slaves who are willing to give up their freedom for promises that they’ll be given some minimal level of support no matter what. On the other hand, capitalism is for people who want the freedom to rise or fall based on their own effort.

  • Socialism in this country is pushed forward by the Democratic party. There is no GOP leadership to stop the forward march of Socialism in the U.S.

The Russian Boogeyman

 by

        Phillip Todd

The US and it's  war suppliers keep Vladimir Putin as public enemy #1. It is a daily theme in America.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST LIE IN AMERICA TODAY

It is the excuse for perpetual war.

This is the real Putin:

State of the Country Address - In his own words.

"We are committed to a friendly, equal dialogue, to upholding the principles of justice and mutual respect in international affairs; we are ready for serious discussion on the creation of a stable system of international relations in the 21st century.”

"It is unacceptable to drag the schisms, malice and grudges of the past into our modern life, to pursue selfish interests by speculating on tragedies that had happened ...”

"...I would like to emphasize – in culture, in politics, in mass media, in public life and in discussions over economic issues no one can prevent anyone else from thinking freely and openly expressing their positions."

 On the protests in America.

"If some people consider themselves more ‘developed’, better-educated or even more intelligent than someone else, they should treat other people with respect – this is only natural. And of course I consider that an aggressive reaction to this is equally unacceptable, especially when it develops into vandalism and violations of the law."

"We stand ...against any monopoly, whether it is a claim on exclusivity, or attempts to adjust for one’s own good the rules of international trade, restrict freedom of speech, or impose censorship in the international space.”

IN addition - so there is NO mistake

Putin praises people’s unity, but says there’s no way back to ideological monopoly (of Communism)

"We are not speaking about dogmas, about false unity demonstrated for show and especially about coercing someone into accepting some particular worldview. You all know well that it has already happened in our history and we have no intention to return to this past."

As you can see from his own words he is not the boogeyman that the US government would have us believe. This 'war for profit" economy NEEDS an enemy to keep the dollars flowing into the pockets of the elite. The demonization of Russia and Vladimir Putin is the "flavor of the month" since the Taliban has fallen into disarray and is no longer a credible foe.

The emergence of the public's realization of "fake news stories" might begin to open their eyes to the slanted pro-war propaganda that permeates western media. Russia wants to befriend us and would make a outstanding ally in an ever dangerous world. This could only happen if the U.S. government sees the world, not the way we are trying to force it to be, but rather through the new eyes without bias and learn who our "real" enemies truly are.

JFK - A Twenty-First Century Republican?

By

       M. Richard Maxson

Sixty-six years ago, when John F. Kennedy was elected as our 35th president of the United States, he commanded a Democratic Party that believed in capitalism -- including tax cuts to generate economic growth; a vigorous military that could be used to oppose Communist expansionism; and a patriotism in which the United States proudly thumped its chest about our accomplishments, victories and generosity.

Now things are indeed radically changed. Today’s Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to JFK.

· Would Kennedy possibly believe that more Iowa Democrats in 2016 identify with “socialism” than with “capitalism?”
· Would he have ever believed that 43 percent of Iowa’s Democratic caucus-goers self-identified as “Socialist?”

Today’s Democratic Party — the home of Barack Obama, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Al Gore — wouldn’t give the time of day to a candidate like JFK. The reason is that today’s party has moved far to the left towards Communist Socialism while the Republican party has maintained the Constitutional principals that John Kennedy so embraced. Today JFK would be a solid Republican.

His views on government, the economy, and the real dangers to the U.S. is why he was assassinated. He went against the grain, against the rising tide of Progressivism that is backed by the unseen men in the shadows that attempt to make the decisions for mankind to gain power and profit and control of the populace. The enemies who are at war with us today are the same ones who killed our duly elected President. That is when the coup took place and has been in effect ever since. It was the end of the old Democratic party and perhaps the old Republic.

“For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence–on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day.” – John F. Kennedy

In that attempt to do what he could to stop the march towards Socialist Progressivism led by the military-industrials.
  • He fired the CIA chief, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for his approval of the Northwoods papers suggesting the false flag to fly a plane into a tall
building and blame it on the Cubans at the time.
  • He signed an EO turning control of our currency and credit over to the US treasury, and was drafting legislation to put us back on the gold standard, and had already issued silver certificates in the $1 bills
  • He championed across-the-board, top-to-bottom reductions in personal and corporate tax rates, slashed tariffs to promote free trade, and even spoke out against the ‘confiscatory’ property taxes being levied in too many cities.

Kennedy’s across the board tax cut, like Reagan’s and like Bush’s, was a perfect example of pro-growth economics in action. Allow people to keep more of their money. Additionally, Kennedy saw to it that
capital gains tax rates be slashed, along with corporate tax rates. He sought to strengthen, and expand, the prosperity of the private sector in an effort to fully fund the government infrastrusture projects that would soon follow. He knew that to pay for bridges, roadways, and the space program, the economy would need to grow faster than government spending. The simple fact that Kennedy planned on increasing government spending after he increased revenues through rate cuts,,,,in contrast to today’s liberal politicians, and Keynesian economists, he is certainly a representative sample of traditional pro-growth policies, and a haven of conservative thought in a decidedly Progressive chapter of American history. Kennedy’s ambitious change to the tax code was textbook “pro-growth” policies that have since been advocated by Milton Friedman, Ludwig van Misses, and other conservative minded folks.

Now does that sound like the Party of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Harry Reid? Does that sound like the party that passed the largest tax increase in American history (The Affordable Care Act) and Obama’s call for increased taxes on the wealthy, increased business regulation, and increased tax burdens on particular industries? Kennedy’s short time in office produced a wealth of economic lessons for future generations. None of which is currently being advocated by today’s Democrat Party.

That is also the theme of Ira Stoll’s book “JFK, Conservative”: “Now Ira Stoll comes along to make the startling case that JFK was not a liberal at all, but in reality a conservative who (had he lived) might have endorsed Ronald Reagan for president and today might be comfortably at home writing editorials for National Review.” Stoll…makes a strong case that conservatives should stake a claim to President Kennedy as one of their own…“JFK appears more conservative to us today than he appeared to his contemporaries because liberalism moved so far to the left in the years after he was killed.”
- National Review

Today's Progressives should head the words of the last "real" Constitutional Democrat, JFK:
"Neither the fanatics nor the faint-hearted are needed. And our duty as a Party is not to our Party alone, but to the nation, and, indeed, to all mankind. Our duty is not merely the preservation of political power but the preservation of peace and freedom. So let us not be petty when our cause is so great. Let us not quarrel amongst ourselves when our Nation's future is at stake. Let us stand together with renewed confidence in our cause -- united in our heritage of the past and our hopes for the future -- and determined that this land we love shall lead all mankind into new frontiers of peace and abundance."
