My
first writing many decades ago was for a school assignment. It was a
comparison of Communist goals and how much they were beginning to
take shape in our country. My teacher kept me after to inform me,
physically, how wrong I was. But was I?
On
Jan. 10, 1963, Congressman Albert S. Herlong Jr. of Florida read a
list of 45 Communist goals into the Congressional Record. These are
the pertinent ones we will use for today’s discussion.
Capture
one or both of the political parties in the U.S. [Note: In his book,
"Reagan’s War," Peter Schweizer demonstrates the
astonishing degree to which Communists and communist sympathizers
have penetrated the Democratic Party.
Discredit
the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned,
out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between
nations on a worldwide basis.
Continue
discrediting American culture by degrading all form of artistic
expression. An American Communists were
told to "eliminate all historical
sculpture from parks and buildings."
Discredit
the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy
divorce.
Support
any Democratic Socialist movement to give centralized control over
any part of the culture – education, social agencies, welfare
programs, mental health clinics, etc.
Get
control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism
and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control
of teachers associations. Put the Progressive line in textbooks.
Break
down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and
obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV by
presenting homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal,
natural and healthy."
Was
I wrong? Not according to people who know what Socialist Communism really
is. We spoke with a Russian immigrant, a
woman in her eighties, Svetlana. She
was heartbroken. The fear and horror was evident in her eyes as she
talked about her experiences as a young person growing up in the
USSR. “I left the Soviet Union to escape communism,
socialism, Marxism — whatever you want to call it,” she recalled.
“America was and still is the only place in the world you are truly
free, and you are losing it. Now the evil is coming here; it is all
around us, especially where I live in California. These people are
ignorant, they have no historical knowledge, and they are very
dangerous. The ideology is seductive to America’s naive youth and
always ends up with people dead.”
Many
of us have been saying the same thing for a while now, warning the
younger generations of the historical
dangers of “Progressivism.”(a.k.a.
Communist Socialism) These truths
are well worth revisiting today in order to gain insights into the
thinking and strategies of much of our so-called Progressive
elite. You don’t have to look very hard to validate concerns
that today’s Democratic Party is really a neo-Bolshevik party in
disguise. The very troubling fact is that, with a couple of decades
of indoctrination, there are so many followers of
Progressivism in positions of power in our country today.
